The Tory motion in Parliament should be defeated!

As a Canadian I ought to be glad – glad that the Tory motion which comes before Parliament on Monday calls merely for the “rejection” of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. It could be worse, it could be that Canada’s Parliament would try to criminalize BDS supporters– as they do in France, or penalize them as they do in Israel.

In 1948 and again in 1967, Israel drove hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes. In 1948 more than 750,000 were forced into refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan. Many of them and their descendants remain there today. Others sought refuge all over the world including in countries such as Canada.
